India has imposed countervailing duties between 2.47% and 10.27% on copper rod and wire imports from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam for five years.
Previous investigations by DGTR, India's trade remedy agency, showed that copper wire imported from the four countries was exported to India at subsidised prices, causing losses to domestic companies.
It is reported that the Indian Trade Remedy Agency DGTR also proposed to impose additional countervailing duties on the continuous casting copper rod and wire imported from the above four countries.
